SEPTEMBER ...

There's a special beauty that the garden offers as true autumn approaches. Perhaps it's partly that the frenzy of summer has subsided and the days, though full, allow for more moments to pause and  appreciate the beauty the garden and its inhabitants. The buzz of pollinators provides a steady drone and reminder to harvest for the cold ahead. Crickets sing us to sleep through the night. Despite the recent warm weather, we know that the cold winds of fall are waiting. And so, we savour every warm ray of sun and get on with the jobs that are on our autumn list.
Once again this year we are pleased to offer an ever changing variety of apples, pears and plums from Oaklane  Orchards.
A wide variety of apples, pears, and plums, many not found in supermarkets, will be available as the season progresses. For those bakers out there - apple pies - try Ginger Gold apples, plum cakes - the Italian plums are perfect, and pear crisp - Bartletts need so little sugar! We'll try to keep running list of what's available each week on our Facebook page.

MUSIC!
A BIG THANK YOU to our musicians who played in the garden this summer!
We are always grateful to both our musicians and for you - our audience.
We'll be planning our concerts for the upcoming 2026 season through the winter. If you have any suggestions or wish to find out about performing next year, send us an email and we'll be in touch early in the new year.

SEE YOU THERE
